ABOUT PAMPA
The warmth of natural fibres
EXPLORE - PRESERVE - EMPOWER
Pampa products are designed in Australia and made from fine, natural materials, such as pure sheep’s wool. When you feel the warmth of natural fibres, you feel the earth—a tactile, grounding experience that brings a sense of awareness and attention.
We collaborate with skilled artisans in remote Argentina and other regions of Latin America to bring you ethically handcrafted rugs, woven textiles and homewares made from natural materials — traditionally made for contemporary times.
In many parts of Argentina, natural dyes, patterns inspired by nature and the traditions of manual weaving are slowly fading away. Pampa exists to protect this woven heritage for the next generation and to promote the qualities of natural wool. In the Quechua language, Pampa means ‘plain between the mountains’: a place of fertile earth, and all of our collections carry this sense of place. When you feel the warmth of natural fibres, you feel the earth—a tactile, grounding experience that brings a sense of awareness and attention. Feel the earth is also our promise to customers: to connect with something made slowly and carefully by hand with natural materials—gifts from Pachamama (Mother Earth).
For our partnerships with artisan communities, small-scale farmers, and social enterprises, we take a “from the ground up” approach that aims to uplift local communities in remote Argentina and other regions of Latin America, providing them with fair wages and supporting them to preserve their heritage and fine craftsmanship. At the same time, we hope to enrich the lives of our customers and honour the earth.
